The “Agrarsysteme der Zukunft” with food4future at the Kulmbach Campus Day

The Kulmbach Campus Day of the University of Bayreuth took place on April 13, 2024.

In the premises of the Alte Spinnerei in Kulmbach, visitors were able to find out everything about the study programs on offer, find out about research topics, get tours of the laboratories or carry out experiments themselves. The Faculty of Life Sciences: Food, Nutrition and Health is located at the Kulmbach branch of the University of Bayreuth. Prof. Dr Susanne Baldermann from food4future presented the research on “agricultural systems of the future”. Using VR glasses and a multi-touch table, innovative approaches to sustainable agriculture could be experienced, and novel foods such as jellyfish and insects were presented. Dr. Florian Herrmann, Head of the Bavarian State Chancellery and State Minister for Federal Affairs and Media, also found out about the work of our consortia.
