Innovative Approaches for a Sustainable Agricultural Production

food4future is one of eight joint research projects funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research within the framework of the funding line "Agricultural Systems of the Future" ("Agrarsysteme der Zukunft" in German), which develop the agricultural systems of tomorrow using innovative and novel approaches.

Existing agricultural systems are facing profound changes. Ensuring food security increasingly gets more challenging for current production systems in view of (adverse) effects of climate change, increasing scarcity of cultivation areas and a steadily increasing world population.

To pave the way ahead in agriculture, the eight inter- and transdisciplinary consortia explore and test innovative approaches for the Agricultural Systems of the Future. Aside from food4future, these are:
