food4future participatory experiment enters the second round

No one can say for sure what the future of our food will look like - neither what exactly we will eat, nor where and by whom our food will be grown. Will new protein sources like algae and crickets be on our menu? Will we follow an app's nutritional recommendations tailored to our individual needs? Will our food be produced close to home? The food4future joint research projects works on answering these questions.

One thing is certain - this will affect us all. Our food4future partners at the Chair of Innovation Management at Freie Universität Berlin are therefore launching the second round of a participatory experiment as part of the joint research project "food4future". All interested parties aged 18 and older are cordially invited to participate in the online survey on the exciting question "What will we eat in the future?" The findings from this are to be used directly in research into future nutrition, so that the opinion of each and every individual is taken into account.

The aim of the participatory experiment is to understand what different people think and feel and how needs differ from person to person. Collaboratively, ideas for future food are developed further and thus the future is shaped. Participation takes about 15 minutes. "Time that is worth it to actively help shape the future and make your own opinion heard," says psychologist Madita Amoneit (Chair of Innovation Management, Freie Universität Berlin).

In the online survey, participants can expect questions such as: When it comes to the topic of nutrition and food of the future, what concerns you? What is your current diet like and what is important to you when deciding what to eat? Could you imagine algae, salt plants, crickets or jellyfish as new food sources of the future? What places would you choose for food production in urban areas? The research team presents an exciting selection of possibilities. But it also asks whether you would follow personalized nutrition recommendations from an app ? These and other questions are intended to to provide a better understanding of what people are considering when it comes to "food of the future" and which aspects are particularly important in this context.
